It is critical that children learn the basic foundational literary skills that will enable them to be proficient and above grade level readers. If a child does not perform well in reading, that child will likely struggle in other subjects as well. That’s why early literacy development is at the core of our program. We want to prepare our children to read early and above grade level so that they can have a head start on reading and perform well in other subjects as a result. Our goal here at Dorothy’s Legacy is to prepare children Pre-K to fourth grade to be exceptional readers and to watch the ripple effect of success and opportunity unfold for each student.
